Materials & care

Most pieces are oak, with cork wherever things should land softly. The wood is finished with oil, which asks for a minute of care now and then.

Oak

  • Solid oak, finished with two coats of Borma Wachs Hard Top Oil, sanded at 200 grit between coats.
  • The oil soaks into the wood, so you feel the grain under your fingers.
  • Safe for food contact, and for toys that end up in children's mouths.

Everyday care

  • Wipe with a dry or lightly damp cloth, then dry it.
  • Don't leave water standing on it.
  • Skip strong cleaners and alcohol sprays.

Cork

  • Dust with a dry cloth or a soft brush.
  • For a mark, use a barely damp cloth and let it air-dry.

Refreshing the oil

When a spot looks dry or dull, rub in a thin coat of hard wax oil, wipe off the excess and let it dry as the tin says. Not sure about something? Email me before you try it.
