Catch All Tray

An oak tray for your keys, earbuds, watch and pocket change. Everything you empty out of your pockets when you get home lands in one place, so you're not hunting for it in the morning.

A CNC cuts the shape, I chamfer the edges by hand, then sand it and finish it with two coats of Borma Wachs Hard Top Oil. The underside is always cork, so the tray won't scratch your desk or slide around when you drop your keys in. The cork-bottom version has cork inside too, and things land more quietly.

All three sizes are multiples of 97 mm. Two S trays take up the same space as one M, and an S next to an M matches an L, so several trays sit edge to edge. The corner is the same as on everything else I make, so the tray matches what's already on your desk.

Oak has its own grain and tone, so your tray won't look exactly like the one in the photos.

How I make it

• A CNC cuts the shape and the pocket out of solid oak.
• I chamfer the edges with a hand router and sand everything by hand.
• Two coats of Borma Wachs Hard Top Oil. You still feel the grain under your fingers, and the finish is food-safe.
• Cork goes on the underside, so the tray sits softly and protects your desk.
• I look over every tray before it's packed. Only the ones I'm happy with get shipped.

Engraving

I can engrave up to 200 characters on the tray: a name, a date or a short dedication. Laser burns in fine detail, CNC carves a recess with thicker letters. You choose it on this page before adding to cart. Thinking of a logo or a drawing? Email me at [email protected] or message me on Instagram.

Care

• Wipe with a dry or lightly damp cloth, then dry it.
• Don't leave water standing in it.
• Dust the cork bottom with a dry cloth or a soft brush.

What's different about the cork-bottom version?

Both versions have a cork underside. In the standard one the inside is oiled oak. In the cork-bottom version cork lines the inside too, so keys don't clatter and a watch or glasses rest on something soft.

Will it scratch my desk?

No. The underside is cork, so the tray sits softly on wood, glass and lacquer.

Can I put food on it?

On the oak-bottom tray, yes: the oil is food-safe. Nuts or fruit by the desk are a good use for it. I wouldn't use the cork bottom for food, as it's harder to clean.

Do the trays fit together?

Yes. Every size is a multiple of 97 mm: two S trays equal one M, and an S plus an M equal an L. The corner matches everything else in the shop.

Can I get it engraved?

Yes, up to 200 characters, by laser or CNC. You choose it on this page. Engraved trays can't be returned.

When will you ship my order?
